Saba is known for its steep hills, but every bike deserves a chance to conquer them! We’re teaming up for Saba DOET to host a community "Bike Fix" day. Our goal is to get dusty, broken, or neglected bicycles back into safe, working order so our community can stay active and mobile.
Whether you’re a master mechanic or have never held a wrench in your life, we need your hands to help give these bikes a second chance on life.
What Volunteers Will Be Doing
We have tasks for every skill level. You don’t need to be an expert—we’ll have tools and guidance on-site!
The Deep Clean: Scrubbing down frames, degreasing chains, and making those rims shine.
Safety Checks: Inflating tires, checking brake pads, and ensuring bolts are tightened.
General Repairs: Replacing inner tubes, adjusting gear cables, and oiling chains.
Organization: Helping manage the "parts station" and documenting which bikes are ready for the road.
Fuel for the Work
Wrenching is hungry work, so we’ve got you covered!
During the project: We’ll provide fresh bread and plenty of cold drinks to keep your energy up.
Once the tools are packed away and the bikes are ready to roll, stick around for a well-earned drink, some games and relaxation with the team.
Why Join Us?
You’ll be helping promote youth and adults to be actively cycling on the island and learning some handy DIY skills. It’s about community, grease, and good vibes.
When: May 16 - 8:00/12:00
Where: BMS office Parking Lot
Bring: Comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting a little oily!
