The “Sharing Sweet Traditions” project is a youth-led community service initiative designed to strengthen intergenerational connections on Saba while supporting elderly residents who may experience isolation.
Through this activity, Leo and peer volunteers will work alongside a local culinary expert to prepare traditional Sabian treats such as mami-apple tarts and coconut tarts. These homemade goodies will be personally delivered to elderly residents in the community. During the visits, volunteers will spend meaningful time with recipients—engaging in conversation, reading to them, or simply offering companionship.
The project promotes cultural heritage, volunteerism, and social connection while encouraging young people to actively contribute to the well-being of their community.
