Volunteers will prepare a traditional Saban soup accompanied by freshly made johnny cake and deliver meals to shut-ins and less mobile residents across the island.
The project emphasizes:

The key areas that volunteers will assist are as follows:
Volunteer Structure
Kitchen Team (8) 8:00 am
• Setting out ingredients and pre-prepping of meats (3 persons on Friday 05.15.26)
• Clean, peel and cut up vegetables and starches to add to soup (3 persons)
• Soup preparation (2 persons)
• Food safety oversight (1 person)
Packaging Team (4 that are part of kitchen team) 10:30 am
• Portioning
• Labeling
• Bag assembly
Delivery Team (8) 11:00 am
• Route coordination
• Direct delivery
• Brief social interaction (ALL)

The primary result to be achieved is to prepare and distribute 75-100 hot meals (soup & johnny cakes) to identified residents., and to engage 10 additional community volunteers in service alongside 5 (or more) Lions members.
Additioal results are to promote local food traditions through hands-on preparation, and tasting.
Additionally, the delivery crew (includes at least one Lion) will provide personal check-ins to isolated residents.
